Piles Fissure treatment is done by the following three approaches:
- Conservative treatment: This type of treatment can be given in the initial stage usually in the first 6-8 weeks. In this treatment, patient are given a lot of high-fiber foods and are instructed to take a lot of drinking water to soften their stool. When the stool becomes softened the pain around the muscles which happens due to muscle spasms becomes less. Apart from that, the patient can take a warm bath and apply muscle relaxant ointment to the affected area.
- Botox: It is a chemical that is generally injected into the muscles around the anus and it can lessen the muscle’s spasm. This will relax the patient for 2 to 3 months and by that time fissure get healed.
- Surgery: This is the last way to treat pile and fissure and doctors recommend it when the above process does not work. Fissure surgery is done by a process called Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy (LIS). Piles surgery can be done by hemorrhoidectomy, banding, sclerotherapy, infrared coagulation, etc.
